Details
Emeritus Professor Nancy Millis was a pioneering microbiologist whose groundbreaking work in fermentation processes and water purity helped shape Australian biotechnology. A trailblazer in genetic engineering, she also played a pivotal role in developing Australia’s biotechnology education, leaving a lasting legacy in both science and academia.
In recent years, Australia has emerged as an academic and industry powerhouse in radiopharma with a concentration of clinical thought leadership, supply chain advantages and decent companies that are globally active. This year’s Millis Oration will explore how an emerging area of the global biopharmaceutical landscape took hold in Australia, how it might be extensible to other areas of life sciences and some of the ecosystem challenges that require urgent attention to ensure future success.
