Yet many innovations still struggle to scale into companies with international reach and impact. Global “femtech” narratives, often driven by venture capital data, obscure Australia’s distinct innovation pathways — grounded in publicly funded, service-embedded development across medtech, biotech and digital health. This session explores where translation breaks down, from capital gaps and investment bias to system-embedded development models, and asks how Australia can better convert its clinical and research strengths into sustainable commercial outcomes.
