We all know that the Australian population is aging. The median age of the Australian population has increased by 2 years over the last two decades, from 35 years at 30 June 1999 to 37 years at 30 June 2019. Like most developed countries, Australia's population is ageing as a result of sustained low fertility and increasing life expectancy. Over the 20 years between 1999 and 2019, the proportion of the population aged 65 years and over increased from 12.3% to 15.9%. This group is projected to increase more rapidly over the next decade, as further cohorts of baby boomers turn 65.
This change in demographic bring challenges not only to that population but to our society. The panel will look at how does this sector currently adopt technology, what are its unique challenges and barriers to entry. We need to adapt to the aging future and the opportunities it will bring
