Details

How do you turn a promising technology into a sustainable business that delivers real benefits for patients, clinicians and healthcare organisations? Dr Silvia Pfeiffer has done it more than once. She founded CSIRO spinout Vquence and then telehealth platform Coviu, which became essential infrastructure for Australian clinicians during COVID-19 and was recognised among Deloitte’s fastest-growing technology companies. Today she is Chief Product Officer at CARED, bringing AI-driven workflow automation and My Health Record integration to care delivery and she is Chief Operating Officer at an AI startup called Debrief Health. She has also mentored dozens of HealthTech and MedTech startups. In a candid fireside chat with Sean Chung of Create Health Advisory, Silvia will reflect on identifying real needs, demonstrating value, and securing the customers and partnerships that made growth possible. She’ll also share the turning points, how she balanced commercial realities with the impact she wanted to achieve, and what she would do differently. The conversation will look at what it takes to scale an Australian health technology business internationally, including navigating different health systems, regulations and buying behaviours. Drawing on her mentoring work, she’ll name the challenges that early-stage health startups commonly hit and offer practical ways to move past them.
