Details

The global resurgence of neuropsychiatric research has created a rapidly evolving clinical landscape, marked by both scientific promise and operational complexity. As global interest in neuropsychiatric therapies accelerates, Australia is emerging as an attractive destination for early-stage clinical development due to its established trial infrastructure and supportive research ecosystem. As joint partners, Novotech and Paratus Clinical are collaborating with innovative Biotechs to advance next-generation neuropsychiatric therapies in Australia through specialised clinical trial expertise, purpose-built facilities, and multidisciplinary operational support. This panel session will provide an overview of the current clinical trial landscape in Australia and discuss practical considerations that shape the conduct of high quality psychiatry clinical trials, including regulatory requirements and navigation, protocol design nuances, safety oversight expectations, workforce training requirements, and the integration of community and specialist clinicians. By sharing lessons learned from active and recent studies, we aim to contribute to a more consistent, scalable, and safe model for this area of research as this field transitions toward broader commercial and therapeutic implementation.
