Details

This panel of seasoned entrepreneurs and industry experts will share conventional and unconventional paths to success. Australia's world class biomedical research is leading to an increasing number of biotech startups across biopharma, medtech and digital startups with the potential to have clinical impact globally. For an Australian born biotech/medtech venture to see a return on their investment they are going to have to tap into international markets for funding and sales. Given the cost to bring a new device to market can cost upward of a $100m and for a new drug, upward of $1b, Australian biotech ventures need to access global capital and markets to succeed. The panel will discuss strategies to fund, partner and commercialise ventures, what it takes to attract and maintain international support and enter international markets and leveraging government assistance available through the various funding mechanisms that continue to be put in place. The panel will unpack actual, lived case studies in an effort to help entrepreneurs in the audience carve their own path to commercial success.
